American Made Cedar Log Accent Table

This adorable accent table is the perfect companion piece to many of the Lakeland Mills products. Allowing for a place to set drinks, snacks, reading material, your phone, and any other items you may need to keep handy. The sturdy construction and Northern White Cedar logs will give years of use.

Northern White Cedar is naturally resistant to decay and insects. Northern White Cedar is a renewable resource harvested mostly from Northern Michigan, and is surplus from the log home industry. The logs are dried, monitored, and processed in our factory in Edmore, MI. Since Northern White Cedar produces natural preservatives against environmental enemies (decay, insects, and moisture), the furniture made from these logs can last 10-20 years.

Be aware that there are ‘look-alikes’ out there. Imported log furniture made from Chinese Fir may be cheaper, but they do not compare. Chinese Fir is not insect and rot resistant, and is also inferior in strength. Imported logs may harbor bugs inside the wood, and must be fumigated before entering the United States. These products give off odors that can contain formaldehyde and other toxic chemicals. Even then, it may not be enough to kill all of the bugs, which then allows them to into our environment to infest our trees. Log furniture made from Chinese Fir will last 1 to 3 years.

The Lakeland Mills accent table is shipped partially assembled. The table top is pre-assembled, with illustrated instructions and screws. This table can easily be put together in under 15 minutes.

Checking is natural.

Many or most of the logs will have cracks. These cracks are called checks. Checking occurs when the logs dry and the cells shrink causing the wood to split. This does not weaken the wood. Checking helps give cedar furniture its rustic beauty. Because the wood is naturally resistant to decay and insect damage, you will have a place to set your books and drinks for a long time.
